Time and Lives Potentially Lost Waiting for Insurance Prior Authorizations

Waiting for approvals AKA prior authorizations can lead to dangerous delays in care and treatment, worsening of your condition, not to mention a huge administrative burden for healthcare personnel and extreme frustration for both physicians and patients.

Prior authorizations often involve extensive paperwork and communication with insurance companies. This administrative tactic which too often can drag on for days at a time costs valuable time and resources detracting from patient care. Too often when a physician orders tests for you and they're denied, you would think insurance carriers are acting as physicians.

Prior authorization processes often involve extensive paperwork and communication with insurance companies. This administrative tactic which too often can drag on for days at a time costs valuable time and resources detracting from patient care.

When a physician orders tests for you and they're denied, you would think insurance carriers are acting as physicians.

Prior authorization requirements too often restrict physicians ability to exercise clinical judgment and provide timely treatment based on their professional expertise. Sadly, physicians and their staff may feel pressured to adhere strictly to preauthorization guidelines, even if they believe a different course of action is more appropriate for your unique needs.

Too often, preauthorization processes contribute to inefficiency and waste within the healthcare system. The time and resources spent on obtaining preauthorization approvals could be redirected toward actual patient care.

There's no doubt whatsoever that this strains the patient-physician relationship. Patients become frustrated with perceived barriers to their doctors recommended care, and obvious constraints in their Doctors ability to advocate for our patients' best interests. Most physicians will argue that the current system is overly burdensome and in fact sadly hinders excellence in patient care. ~ We Are Here for You
